I don't have much time to email this week. We got transfer calls yesterday, it looks like I'm staying again, I will be getting my fourth companion here. I got called to be the new District Leader as well. My current companion is going up to Edmonton to be with my last companion. Also, this last week, we got to move to a new apartment, the move went well. That's the big news from this past week.
3 And these plates of brass, which contain these engravings, which have the records of the holy scriptures upon them, which have the genealogy of our forefathers, even from the beginning—
4 Behold, it has been prophesied by our fathers, that they should be kept and handed down from one generation to another, and be kept and preserved by the hand of the Lord until they should go forth unto every nation, kindred, tongue, and people, that they shall know of the mysteries contained thereon.
I found a really cool scripture this past week, I thought I would share it with you: Alma 37:3-4
4 Behold, it has been prophesied by our fathers, that they should be kept and handed down from one generation to another, and be kept and preserved by the hand of the Lord until they should go forth unto every nation, kindred, tongue, and people, that they shall know of the mysteries contained thereon.
Our Ancestors found it important to keep a record, so that we might be able to learn about there dealings with Heavenly Father, and His Son, Jesus Christ. If it was important for them to write it down, I think it would be even more important for us to take the time to read their words. It is really cool that we have the opportunity to hear modern day scriptures from a Prophet and Apostles every 6 months, this weekend is General Conference, I want to challenge everyone to watch at least one talk and comment on this post with one thing you learned from a talk. I look forward to reading your responses.
I know Christ lives and that He is our Savior. I love all the Miracles He is able to show unto me each day. I love Him, I pray through Him. I know He is there.
Love,
Elder Warkentin
